Olympic gold medal coach Kemeny Lured to New Zealand.

New Zealand Water Polo has hooked up one of the most successful coaches in World Water Polo for a week of coaching clinics. Denes Kemeny is the current coach of the Hungarian Men's side that has won the past two Olympic Gold medals. He has also coached the Hungarian men's team to World League, FINA Cup and European Championship titles and is arguably the most successful coach in World Water Polo since 1997.
Denes Kemeny will come to New Zealand this month.

| Brendon Ward (21.10.2005) Under his guidance Hungary has been in medal contention at almost every significant championship since 1997. In fact out of 18 world events he has won 9 gold medals, 4 silver, 4 bronze and taken 5th place on one occasion. Having a Water Polo legend in New Zealand is an honour and a privilege said New Zealand Water Polo Chief Executive Scott Newman. "Denes Kemeny is world renowned for his coaching and tactical knowledge. The fact that he is in New Zealand is testament to the performances of our National sides over the last few years, and the hard work of our National Women's Coach, Hungarian Peter Szilagyi to bring him out here."
While in New Zealand Kemeny will hold a high performance training camp in Hamilton for a number of the country's top club coaches and travel to Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch to hold sessions for players, coaches and referees. "It will be more of a question and answer clinic than a simple seminar" said Denes Kemeny who is also looking forward to attending the NPC Rugby final at Eden Park and doing some sight seeing throughout New Zealand.
The high performance coaching clinic will cover a huge amount of content including
· an introduction of the New Rules, · a review of the NI Champs with analysis of the strengths and weakness from the women's and men's teams, · coaching the center forward, · coaching the center back, · coaching the goalkeeper, · coaching the drivers and outside shooters, · general attack tactics, · general defense tactics, · video analyzing, · dry land work out, · extra man offense - from 1 on none through to 6 against 5, · man down defense - from none on through to 5 against 6, · the team talk, · using the time between quarters, · using time out, and · relationships between clubs and national trainings.
